Ford aims to capitalise on the meteoric success experienced by the Transit van this year with the launch of 100 dedicated ‘Transit Centres’ across the UK.
The new centres are an essential element in Ford’s new Transit24 after sales programme, which promises to provide unbeatable service to Transit owners by minimising vehicle downtime and reducing the running costs the van generates.
All of the new centres will feature a high-tech showroom with longer opening hours and improved service standards, ensuring the highest level of after sales service. Commercial vehicle operators are welcoming the new offering, which it is hoped will reduce the costs associated with a Transit throughout the course of its life.
Included in the new offering are while-you-wait servicing and late night appointments, which will be available on a regular basis. Online service booking requests can also be made which will receive a response in just 20 minutes.
Along with prompt servicing will be the prearranged collection and delivery of vehicles, increasing the convenience for Transit owners and reducing downtime.
As the largest dealer network in the country, Ford’s new initiative is certainly not lacking in ambition, and will help them to deliver the very best care, assistance and servicing to Transit owners across the UK.
The first Transit Centre up and running in the UK is Hartwell Ford in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. Kevin Godfrey, managing director of the firm, said: “The launch of our new Transit Centre is a brilliant opportunity to showcase the excellent new range of commercial vehicles from Ford and further improve the level of care for our customers.”
