Ford Transit vans have long been the market leader and the vehicle manufacturer is hoping to maintain this market dominance with the release of its newest van.
How is the New 2018 Custom Different?
The first details of the new 2018 Ford Transit Custom have been revealed and it will be Ford’s cleanest van yet. Available in a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, the van also has a new design, new interior and the engine is more efficient.
The new look is inspired by Ford’s passenger cars and will have a high-mounted trapezoidal grille and slim headlamps. The lights will also have LED daytime running capabilities and HID Xenon headlamps. Inside there will be a floating tablet touchscreen that will contain the van’s communications and entertainment system.
A EcoBlue 2.0-litre diesel will soon be available as production starts at the end of 2017, and a zero-emission PHEV version will be on sale by 2019. The basic engines will be available in 104bhp, 128bhp and 168bhp, and the ECOnetic version will offer 148g/km CO2 emissions and 49.6mpg.
